Do not drive in Egypt. There are very very different rules than anywhere else in the world. Use a driver.

do not drive across northern Sinai as there is danger from extremists. Driving the Sinai coast to a resort town is doable- but a long drive.

Driving in Egypt is fine as long as you recognize that it is more like a fluid river than a linear progression. Be prepared for some friendly horn blowing from other drivers.
