Avoid traveling with luggage on the metro after 6 pm , specially when taking the metro from Dubai down town. The metro is pretty small and gets crowded after 6 pm.

Get local clothing adapted to the weather, from any of the different nationalities living in the Emirates and wear it.
As a German-Peruvian I chose the Pakistani camis and pantalun -it has a different name in Urdu- and caused surprise, but also received respect and admiration.
