Don't wear sandals formally or professionally, men can never do this, woman can only do this if there is a strap around the back (means not slip-on) and look nice or fancy. No-strap sandals and flip-flops look like our house slippers, very lazy. Only for casual they are okk. Good luck!

Save your receipts to check the lottery number on them. New winning numbers are chosen every 2 months. Even foreigners can collect prize money if their receipt matches. If you don't know how, ask a local friend to help.

Join locals in appreciating the cool of night for outdoor activities. Going to night markets, movies, malls, events, exhibits, etc. are all perfectly safe! Even late night walks at the park! - Simply avoid empty rural areas or places with too many bars. Drunk people are best avoided in any country.

Avoid politics. No matter whether it's about TW or your own country, it can be complicated. (p.s. If you decide to do it anyway, don't assume the other person's views, and don't underestimate how emphatic they might be about an issue. This is especially true of older people.)
