Do not think that everyone speaks English. I would say a lot of people who work in touristic places, restaurants, hotels, etc, might have English knowledge, but it is a very low part of the population who can speak fluent English

Is very hard for Mexicans to say the word "no", they will try to find other ways to soft it out and don't piss you of by rejecting you in any type of way. Do not be confused if someone can't directly tell you no and will say things like "maybe later" or "next time"

Unlike other latino cultures, Mexico is very shame/honor based. Don't shame someone in front of others or the public in any way, they will take it very deeply. Tell them in private if possible if you need to

Do not be afraid to talk to strangers or ask for help! Mexicans are very friendly and willing to help as much as they can.
